EIMEAR TWOMEY
Eimear Twomey was born in Cork in 1997. Horror and natural phenomena of the land are the pivotal themes in her work. She fabricates haunting works of art by manipulating the body and using minimal costumes out of everyday objects which seem to fabricate something else, to create a poetic exhibit of horror-fiction, in an endeavour to manifest the beauty of the physical unpredictability of the land we live on. Her lens-based works employ traditional photographic still and moving image media. She is interested in the potential of this media to represent otherworldly themes. Twomey is currently a third-year photography, film and video student in Limerick School of Art and Design. She had a photobook Yellow Snow on display on conjunction with the library project for Photo Ireland in 2018 along with the photography, film and video 2018 Christmas exhibition Ascension. Eimear is a Limerick based artist currently completing a Bachelor of Fine Art at LSAD.
